The National Institute of Applied Computer Research – Rhône-Alpes (Inria Rhône-Alpes) is a public establishment focussing on science and technology. It reports to the Ministry of Research and the Ministry of the Economy, Finance
and Industry. The Rhône-Alpes branch, started in December 1992, is one of six Inria research laboratories in France and regroups almost 600 people.
Its 25 teams carry out research on the following main topics, embedded software and systems, in particular for system-on-chips. The centre is involved in numerous projects with industry, notably STMicroelectronics , Bull , Silicomp/Orange Business Services, Schneider Electric and Xerox .
