Grenoble INP, which has been certified as one of France’s higher education Grands Etablissements, dispenses courses covering 22 professional in six main fields: information and communication; micro-nanotechnology; production systems; environment; energy; and materials. The establishment, which is divided into six engineering schools, trains 5,400 students, 20% of whom are foreign, and awards 1,100 engineering diplomas, 380 masters’ degrees and 200 doctoral degrees representing 26 research laboratories. Every year Grenoble INP awards almost 600 degrees to engineers, masters and specialist PhDs in information and communications technology. Three of the schools making up Grenoble INP are involved in the various courses that cover this field:
- Ensimag: data processing and science,
- Phelma: physics, electronics and new materials,
- Esisar: advanced systems and networks, integrating electronics, computer science and embedded technologies.
Opening its teaching to international partners is a constant concern too. Following the launch of its first European master's degree in nanotechnology, Grenoble INP, in partnership with Politecnico di Torino, has just launched a new master's degree in Communication Systems Engineering.
Not only did Grenoble INP co-found the Minatec
innovation centre with CEA-Grenoble, it is also a founder member of the Minalogic
(micro and nanotechnology, embedded software) and Tenerrdis (renewable energies) competitiveness centres. In addition, it has its own industrial knowledge transfer subsidiary, INPG entreprise SA, as well as an industrial partners club, IN’partners, and signs over 150 research contracts each year. Since 1999, the Grenoble INP has participated in the creation of some 26 start-ups drawing on its research.
