Kalray raises €23.6 million

Kalray high power calculation and low energy consumption microprocessors attracted the support of Safran and the asian investment fund, Pengpai. These two new investors join the ranks of existing partners (ACE Management, CEA Investissement, Eurekap !, Héléa Financière and Inocap Gestion).

The 23.6 million euro capital investment will enable the company to accelerate its time to market for current products and fund the development of Coolidge, a third generation MPPA (Massively Parallel Processor Array) planned for 2018.

Kalray microprocessors generally meet the needs of high-end embedded applications for critical sectors such as aeronautics, defense, autonomous automobiles and data centers. Kalray is planning to expand its teams, in particular the engineering unit based in Grenoble, as well as develop its international sales network. Approximately 15 new positions in France and abroad are expected to be filled over the next few months.
