General Mills recently set up a new R&D center at its Yoplait location in Vienne (Grenoble-Isère). The giant of the food industry owns many brands such as Yoplait, Häagen-Dazs, Géant Vert and Old El Paso.
The company’s 1,600 square meter research center will employ almost 100 people to create new flavors for its various milk products, including Häagen-Dazs. General Mills has only two similar centers in the world, one in the U.S. and one in China. Thanks to the production capacities of the Vienne Technical Center, the company can quickly test new Häagen-Dazs flavors before sending them to be mass-produced in Arras, France. As for the Vienne Yoplait factory, the site employs more than 300 people to produce yogurt, fresh cheese and desserts.
