The “Fostine” pilot study focuses on ultra-targeted treatment for patients with prostate cancer and as part of the study, a first patient recently received treatment. The treatment was delivered via a small needle that is inserted using medical imaging equipment.
This process is made possible thanks to the Trinity medical device developed by Koelis. Once the needle reaches its target inside the prostate, it delivers waves to destroy the tumor.
This minimally invasive approach could enable doctors to treat smaller tumors in a quick and easily repeated manner all the while significantly reducing the risk of complications.
