Invest in Grenoble-Isère, France-AEPI coordinates British business delegation visit for UK Trade & Investment, spotlighting Grenoble-Isère’s digital sector

Under the impetus of Grenoble’s French Tech labelling, Grenoble-Isère and its ecosystem are receiving international attention. The trade services of the British embassy, UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) co-organized a mission in Grenoble and Lyon on December 9th to 11th, 2015 for UK companies to discover the potential of the Rhône-Alpes market.

December 8th, 2015, Grenoble - Since 2014, Invest in Grenoble-Isère, France-AEPI has been working closely with the Lyon branch office of UK Trade & Investment, whose mission is to promote the development of British companies in France. So it was only natural for UKTI to turn to the agency to work with them on organizing a day to discover the digital sector in Grenoble-Isère.

In collaboration with Digital Grenoble, the agency prepared the target program for the visit to Grenoble-Isère by a dozen British companies on December 9th to 11th. Centered on two main events, the day of December 10th started off with a presentation of Grenoble-Isère’s digital ecosystem and a visit to the Minatec showroom. The afternoon featured panel discussions on themes such as strengths and weaknesses of the British and French markets, shared insights on digital market trends, and the recruitment of talents. It ended with business meetings with twenty or so local companies. Many partners joined up for the event, including Minalogic, the Clust’R Numérique, Grex, Inovallée and Co-Work.

Welcomed by the British ambassador in Lyon, the British business delegation spent 3 days in the Rhône-Alpes region. The participants’ visit included hosting in the Totem building, an emblem of the French Tech movement in Grenoble and a fine showcase for Grenoble-Isère’s digital sector as a whole.
