Novapex, a leading European player in the phenol and oxygenated solvents chain, is moving ahead with its growth strategy and has opened a new isopropyl acetate unit in the Grenoble-Isère Roussillon chemical park. The unit called for an investment of €4m for a capacity of over 5,000 tons and has been operational since the end of 2015. Isopropyl acetate now joins the range of oxygenated solvents already produced by Novapex, such as isopropanol and acetone, and it reinforces the company’s position in its key markets. The newly-added compound is used in the production of numerous types of synthetic resins and as a common extraction solvent in the pharmaceutical industry, the production of ink for food packaging, and the cosmetics and perfume sectors.
