Brussels, March 4, 2010 – The two European Clusters of Dresden and Grenoble announce the foundation for a structured and strengthened cooperation , in the areas of R&D, Education, Industry & Institutions related to Nano-Electronics and Nano-Technologies .
During a fruitful meeting held between clusters delegations, all the benefit of sharing effort and experience, and adding competences and resources have been highlighted and should leverage clusters recognition as key enablers for European industry competitiveness, social progress and societal acceptance.
Dresden and Grenoble are the most important European Clusters in Nano-Electronics and Nano-Technologies, and have reached an international notoriety and a world-class competitiveness. All contacts already existing between the two Clusters will accelerate for strengthening a deep cooperation between these two pillars of the European Nano-Electronics
Joint Cluster Advisory Committees have been decided in the field of education, research and development, industrial, small and medium enterprise coordination, environment, for setting up action plan and prioritize actions in each domain.
For Geneviève Fioraso, Member of the French Parliament and Deputy Mayor, City of Grenoble: “Microelectronics is a key technology for European industry competitiveness. Dresden and Grenoble, the major poles in Europe, have agreed to work together to be competitive facing Asia & USA. As public authorities we ask to support this process.”
