Schneider Electric is the world leader in the management of electricity and automated systems. The company has 207 industrial sites in 130 countries around the world and employs 92,000 people.
The products designed by Schneider Electric make increasing use of innovations from the electronics and software sectors, so as to meet the new challenges of energy management. The resources the company allocates to innovation are considerable: 5% of revenue is devoted to R&D, which represents 6,500 people and 25 R&D centres worldwide. In Grenoble-Isère, Schneider Electric employs 5,700 people, including 1,400 in R&D at 2 research centres (see section on private research).
