BIODIVERSITY AND CLIMATE CHANGE : main messages from and key challenges for IPCC and IPBES assessments 28 April

Location: Amphi WEIL - place centrale Domaine universitaire, Saint-Martin d’Hères

Speaker: Paul LEADLEY (Université Paris-Sud) Coordinateur du chapitre "Biodiversité" du Groupe de travail #2 du GIEC)

The most recent IPCC report released in 2014 reinforces messages concerning observed and potential future impacts of c limate change on biodiversity. These include large changes in species distributions and abundance, some of which could lead to substantial degradation of ecosystem services or global species extinctions. Impacts of changing climate are already visible in vulnerable systems such as coral reefs and arctic tundra and are projected to become severe if warming progresses beyond 2°C above preindustrial levels.

Workshop IRT/C2MI - Paradigms for 3D Integration 22 June

As the part of their collaboration, C2MI (Micro Innovation Collaborative Center) from Bromont (Quebec) and IRT Nanoelec propose a seminar with a panel of experts in 3D integration.

This workshop will happen in Minatec on June 22 2015 for the first time. It will be dedicated to 3D technology with a special focus on new paradigms for 3D integration and packaging. This event will be co-organized during the LETI days in Grenoble with IRT, CEA LETI, C2MI and Sherbrooke University. The workshop will be co-located with D43D’2015 event (overview of recent trends in 3D, from technology to CAD tools, architecture and applications).

The objective is to bring experts from both the industry and the academia to share recent results on 3D technologies (program below).

The registration (200€ VAT including lunch) and technical program are now available on line : http://www.letidays.com/2015/ .

If you want to participate to the workshop D43D and the workshop IRT/C2MI Paradigms for 3D we propose a special rate: 300€ (VAT excluded) for the 2 workshops (gala evening not included).

Workshop - Sensing Beyond Deafness 29 June

Loss of hearing is hypothesized to cause neuronal plasticity in other sensory systems, like vision and somesthesis. Auditory plasticity is also involved when hearing is partially recovered by the use of prosthetic devices, like cochlear implants. In this workshop, we will address issues related to the way deaf people sense beyond their deafness.
